Alki History Project
The story of the settlement, growth, and development of Seattle’s founding neighborhood.
The Alki History Project was driven by the idea that the better we understand our history, the better we understand our future choices. Alki is an example of how land resources and land use of yesterday can influence tomorrow’s uses. It is also an example of how wealth can be used to create or squander opportunities. We are all stewards of the future, whether or not we recognize it today.

OUR PARTNERS
The local Seal Sitters organization reminds visitors to please keep their dogs on leashes at all times and never touch or move a seal pup because they do bite and carry diseases. Pups come ashore to regain their strength and regulate their temperature. They are extremely vulnerable and need our protection. Only 50% of seal pups survive their first year. Please keep 100 yards away and report any sightings to 206-905-7325.
Thank You to Seattle Department of Neighborhoods for supporting Alki Community Council in ways that help us nurture our community.
